About the book

My Review

I would first like to comment on the cover of the book. I really liked the cover. I thought that cover it perfectly with what the story was about. Having the binary numbers all over the book from the cover to the inside was brilliant. I also thought that the inside of the book was interesting, because it is in the binary numbers but it also displays what a Facebook page looks like. This was the first book that I read by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler. Actually I haven’t read any of their books individually, so yeah this is the first book I’m reading from both of them. I’m not sure who wrote what pieces, but I’m thinking Mr. Asher wrote Josh, and Mrs. Mackler wrote Emma. It could be vice versa, but either way I really enjoyed the book. I thought that they captured the Emma and Josh in this environment really well. I remember what it was like when I got a computer and had the AOL CD-ROM. The authors caught that perfectly. This book was a really good read. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a new read, or anyone who reads Jay Asher or Carolyn Mackler.

Blog 30 - Back to School!!

It's True, I'm back in school for another semester. The Spring 2012 semester has started. (It actually started on the 9th). I'm looking forward to this semester, as it is one of 3 left until my graduation. I'm really excited for that. I wish it were this semester actually but it will come all in due time.

So this semester, I decided to take some good courses, some easier than others. I'm taking:

American Literature 1912-1945
Fiction II
Film & Culture
Poetry I

Those are some good courses, right? I thought so and so did my adviser. I think I will be getting the good grades this semester. That's what I'm aiming for anyways. So I thought I would write a little blog post and say a little forewarning.

If I'm not online or if I don't do a blog post at least once a week, DON'T PANIC. It just means that I'm busy with school work or writing my book. (I'm trying to finish the rough draft by the end of April) But I also have my book challenge for this year. I'm aiming to read at least 52 books, which equals to a book a week, so that means I will should have at least a book review per week. Right? See nothing to worry about. Well I have to get going I have a writing session to do, a vet appointment for my kitty, and then off to class for the rest of the day.

Blog 29 - My Writing!

Good Evening!

So I wanted to tell you a little bit about my own writing. Sure I read tons of books, and I started this blog to keep track of my reviews and point out other fun stuff, but one thing I haven't been talking about is my very own writing. That is what this post is going to be about, my writing.

I'm currently writing my first book, and I'm going to be doing another writing session, as I call them, after this blog post. But it is true, I am writing my first book. Now I have a few peers that are holding me to this and I shall not disappoint them. I have set a goal to finish writing said first book by the end of April / beginning of May. So I have four months to finish writing this story.

What is this story about you ask? Well without giving it completely away, there are teenagers who are street racing in search of something that is lost, or so they think it is lost. I really don't want to give much away as it is still a work in progress. But the basics of the story are that these teenagers are entering a world and they don't really know what they are getting themselves into, but they are sort of forced to dive right in to find what it is that they are looking for. Okay, I've said too much, I mustn't say any more about it for now.

While this story is my main project at the current moment, I'm also plotting out several other projects that I will complete once I have finished the first one. These "books" I'm writing are going to be geared towards the Young Adult audience. I hope that one day I will be able to share them with the world and give everyone something new to read in their spare time.

Blog 28 - 2012 Book Challenge

Welcome to the Year 2012! I wish everyone the best of luck for this year.

Now onto the book challenge that was mentioned in the Title. Last year I didn't really have a challenge for reading books. So this year I'm making one. I've decided to make myself as a writer and a reader, a challenge of reading 52 book this year is in order I think. So that is my goal this year, reading 52 books.

I think I can achieve this goal by reading a book every week. Of course, this means that there will be more book reviews to pop up. If I read 52 books then I will have 52 book reviews. I hope you guys are up for all the book reviews.

The majority of the books and their following reviews will be coming from my "to be read" pile (which currently stands at about 90 books to be read), as well as my Book Club on Goodreads, YA Today Book Club.


I'm currently reading my first book of the year. This one is the January pick for my book club. We are currently reading The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler. So I will most likely be putting the review for this book up on Sunday. Then I will start a new one.
