About the Book
"I can't just storm in and proclaim my intentions. I can't ‘steal' you
away. I just have to wait and hope that, someday, you'll ask," Tamani
said."And if I don't?" Laurel said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Then I guess I'll be waiting forever."
Although Laurel has come to accept her true identity as a faerie, she refuses to turn her back on her human life—and especially her boyfriend, David—to return to the faerie world.
But when she is summoned to Avalon, Laurel's feelings for the charismatic faerie sentry Tamani are undeniable. She is forced to make a choice—a choice that could break her heart.
My Review
The cover almost describes the book perfectly. I love the
cover.
Things that I liked:
I loved that this series is about faeries! I haven’t read anything like this
before. I loved the details that Aprilynne Pike put into the creation of
Laurel’s double life and both worlds that she must live in. I liked that even
Laurel’s enemies were of supernatural instead of another human trying to poke
and prod her like a science experiment. I love the adventures that Laurel must
go through to save David, Tamani, Avalaon, and herself.
Things that I didn’t
like: The only thing I didn’t like was that it felt slow as time, but at
the same time I wanted to continue on with the adventures of Laurel, Tamani,
and David to see how they defeat their enemies.
Overall: I would
recommend this to anyone and I look forward to reading the third books,
Illusions.
Until next time, Happy Reading!
