Blog 2 - Joy for Beginners by: Erica Bauermeister

Hey Guys! So this is a post and a review about the first book on my list from the previous post. This book was my first Advanced Reader Copy that I received in the mail. I was pretty excited when I got it. I requested this book, but didn't think I was going to get it. I actually forgot about it after I requested it. So yeah I was definitely surprised and excited when I got it in the mail one day.

 The Back Cover reads:
"At an intimate, festive party in Seattle, six women gather to celebrate their friend Kate's recovery from cancer. Wineglass in hand, Kate strikes a bargain with them: to celebrate her new lease on life, she'll do the one thing that's always terrified her: white-water rafting. But if she goes, all of them will also do something they always swore they'd never do -- and Kate is going to choose their adventures. Shimmering with warmth, wit, and insight, Joy for Beginners is a celebration of life; unexpected, lyrical, and deeply satisfying."

Mrs. Erica Bauermeister is the author of the national bestseller The School of Essential Ingredients.Though I have not read that one yet. Now onto my review for this book.

Joy For Beginners by Erica Bauermeister was a delightful read. I didn't know what to expect from her book being this is the first one I have read. But nevertheless that didn't stop me from diving right in. I enjoyed reading this book, because the chapter, if you want to call them that, I prefer to call them that, were broken up by the characters. Each chapter was on a different character which included: Caroline, Daria, Sara, Hadley, Marion, Ava, and Kate. I really enjoyed reading this book with each chapter learning more information about the the characters. I really liked the cover of this book with a white curtain that hangs  on the window looking out onto the candlelight table set up with coffee mugs. This book, I thought, was well-written. I loved how the chapters all tied in together to create a beautiful masterpiece. I look forward to reading the final product and also going to read The School of Essential Ingredients. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read.

Until next time. Happy Reading!
